Registered Counselling Therapist & Master of Nursing

“There is a crack in everything, that’s how the light gets in” ~ Leonard Cohen~

I am honored to walk alongside you in your lived experience, offering a safe, trauma informed, and empathic space for your work toward wellness. I am committed to bringing my counselling therapy and nursing skills into an authentic, individualized, therapeutic relationship building on your resilience.

I use a holistic, person-centered approach working with people facing mental health concerns. I draw from varying evidence based therapeutic modalities that are strengths based and collaborative to build skills to help you become your authentic self. I enact an integrative approach, drawing from the modalities of solution focused brief therapy (SFBT), narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoeducation, family systems, collaborative problem solving (CPS), and mindfulness. I am passionate about individual, family, and group work. I work with adults, young adults, couples, and families.

I have over 30 years of experience working therapeutically with individuals from all walks of life and look forward to honoring your lived experience and supporting you in your journey toward living a rewarding, authentic life. I have a keen interest in the areas of depression and other mood disorders, anxiety, communication, addiction, and mental health issues, postpartum, grief, relationships, and conflict. I feel my addiction and mental health nursing experience along with my counselling experience bridges the medical model and the psychosocial/behavioral models to empower you to become your best self.

I have a Bachelor of Nursing degree and Master of Nursing degree from Athabasca University. I have a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate from the University of New Hampshire. I am a regulated member of the Association of Counselling Therapy of Alberta and the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta.

I have been described by clients as patient, knowledgeable, casual, energetic, and kind. You will experience creativity, energy, and some laughter in our sessions.  It is my privilege to honor your journey and walk with you in counselling therapy.

In my “me” time, I love to spend it with my family, the outdoors, hiking, creating, and in quiet self-reflection.
